Dec. 16th, 2013 01:01 amThis is the last time I offer to help Viewtiful Joe with one of his schemes, no matter how worthy the cause much they move him in the right direction. He wanted to stage a revival for Captain Blue to give a bit of hope back to some sick kid in the hospital. I'm not sure why, but I thought it might be interesting to lend a hand. After all, any good hero revival needs a villain, right? Joe wanted me to be the Lavender Avenger, but that didn't sound villainous at all. Instead I decided to go with the Squid of Inescapable Doom. I think I did pretty well, but of course Joe had to goof up somehow. He honestly slipped on a banana peel and nearly knocked himself senseless. Well, even more senseless than normal.
I made up a quick excuse to retreat and I'm wondering why I didn't back out then. I guess I'm just too stubborn for my own good sometimes, since I came up with a new plan. I 'abducted' the kid from his hospital room so Joe could chase me to the roof, give the little guy a personal show. It went pretty well at first, too, but then Joe managed to find another banana peel to slip on and slammed me in the gut. Obviously I had to chew him out for being so careless, out of the kid's line of sight. Unfortunately, he found us, and we fumbled with our masks so much we somehow managed to switch. We're lucky he wasn't paying attention to the outfits, but that left me playing the part of Captain Blue. I'm not usually much for the hero role, obviously, but it was worth breaking type for the chance to send Joe for an unexpected dip in the ocean as payback for the stomachache.
But I wish I could say it was that straightforward. I accidentally knocked part of the hospital sign toward the kid and Joe was in no position to get to him in time. Like I said, I'm a villain, not a hero, but I acted without thinking anyway and flew to push him out of the way. I took the hit myself, right between the wings, and we both fell into the sewers of all places. Even worse, it ruined my disguise and he got to see exactly who had saved his life and now he sees me as his hero. He even compared me to Captain Blue.I'm honestly not sure how I feel about that. I'm glad it was just one kid, at least, because if word got back to Jadow, I'd be sunk.
